Country music legends The Charlie Daniels Band will perform
Sunday, July 27 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway before the
Allstate 400 at the Brickyard.
Craig Morgan will serve as opening act for the pre-race entertainment,
which will take place on the infield stage located behind
the Hall of Fame Museum at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Daniels began touring as a musician in 1959, but with the
formation of The Charlie Daniels Band in the early 1970s,
Daniels was propelled to superstardom with hits such as "Uneasy
Rider" (1973), "The South's Gonna Do It Again"
(1975) and the crossover mega-hit "The Devil Went Down
to Georgia" (1979), which was a No. 1 country single,
No. 3 on the popular music charts and earned a Grammy Award.
The song also pushed sales of the band's album, "Million
Mile Reflections," to triple-platinum status.
